DRUSY Drusy (or druzy) is a coating of tiny crystals formed in a geode or on a fractured stone surface where water has been trapped and slowly evaporated, as within agates. Garnet, citrine, dolomite, amethyst, and other minerals may also appear as drusy. Drusy in Southwestern style jewelry may be natural or coated.
AMETHYST Once believed to prevent intoxication, today amethyst is the most valued quartz, and its purple hues are much favored in Southwestern style jewelry. Brazil is the leading amethyst producer in the world today.
