Candelaria Turquoise
Nevada
The finest Candelaria turquoise to come from the Northern Belle open pit silver mine is located in a part of the mine that is almost inaccessible.
Buried in the Candelaria hills of Mineral County, Nevada, and mined for silver, copper and gold, the mine has been leased infrequently to Turquoise miners.
Candelaria is considered to be a collectable Turquoise, due to its rarity and its gem grade quality stone. Good Candelaria can have a brown or black spider web matrix, with bright blue coloring.
High grade Candelaria is a glowing dark blue with a burnt reddish-brown colored spider-web matrix. Hence the name Candelaria, meaning, “candle maker”.
